2005, 2 x DVDs, 2 x 7" LCD monitors, headphones, loop and shuffle modes
A two-channel video installation in the 'Mathematics' window of the Statuary Hall at University of Manchester. Visual and sonic episodes were constructed from spectral cue-dot bursts - a crude 'timecode' observed on the edges of film reels, and here collected from free digital TV broadcasts. From the first monitor spins a vaguely classical yarn, whilst the second - in shuffle mode - mutates the dots into non-linear, accelerated forms. An intimate, memorial setting to encounter cinematic remains.
A Haunting, The Statuary Hall, University of Manchester & other venues, Manchester, UK. 28 October - 4 November 2005.
