2006, 40 mins, colour, stereo, DVD catalogue
StoryRooms, curated by Andrea
Zapp, took place from October 2005 to January 2006 at the Museum
of Science and Industry in Manchester. The exhibition was documented in a film commissioned from Dave Griffiths
and Nick Jordan.
The film records a group of internationally renowned media artists exploring the ways we communicate
with each other, and with technology, through interactive scenarios and
impromptu visual dialogues. The projects examine
media culture and digitised society by linking the physical
installation with the digital space. Artists were Paul DeMarinis, Susan Collins, Andrea Zapp, Paul Sermon, Tan Teck Weng, Cornelia Sollfrank & Ken Goldberg.
The DVD catalogue contains a 40-minute film of interviews, installations and audience involvement within the unique setting
and atmosphere of the 1830 Warehouse, the historic site of the world's first passenger-railway station. The booklet includes theoretical essays
on media art, narrative and networking by leading
art critics. The StoryRooms catalogue also contains two new film
pieces by Dave Griffiths and Nick Jordan, created in response
to the project.
